Dear Readers,

As I sit here on this first day of 2026, working on Chapter 50 of "The Art of Recompense," I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you who has followed Randal Saxby's journey through the Aspen mountains and beyond.

Your continued support and enthusiasm for the DCI Saxby Detective Series have been the greatest gift a writer could ask for. With every comment, message, and review, you've breathed life into these characters and given purpose to the late nights and early mornings spent at my desk.

Today, while many are recovering from New Year's celebrations, I find myself captivated once again by Randal's world, eager to discover alongside you where his current investigation will lead.

I hope you'll continue this adventure with me through "The Art of Recompense" and beyond, as there are still many mysteries waiting for Saxby and Ransome to unravel.

May 2026 bring you health, prosperity, and perhaps a few good mysteries of your own to solve.

With sincere appreciation,

R. H. Huffman
