4 FLASHBACK: THE DISCOVERY

I remember the moment like it was yesterday. Standing outside that

Perth flat, my heart was pounding in my chest. Twenty-two years of

searching had led to this moment. I take a deep breath and knock.

The door opens, and there she is. Coralie Bennett. No, Gemini

Dawn McKinzie.

She's stunning—5'9" with flowing brunette hair framing a face

that's hauntingly familiar. But it's her eyes that stop me cold—hazel-green, just like Tori's. In that instant, I know. This is her.

"Can I help you?" Her voice carries a full Australian accent.

I introduce myself, show her my credentials from Scotland Yard

and Interpol, and explain why I'm there. Her face cycles through

confusion, disbelief, and fear. I can see her world crumbling around

her. I ask her to accompany me to the Baldivia/Spires Police Station.

She is hesitant but agrees.
